| An image of a dressed up woman is the key to this collection. In our case, there are more references from Uzbekistan but, in general, all women who think their image through in great detail are part of the inspiration: hairstyles with unconventionally-dyed hair, manicures, wearing multi-colored furs—this is dedicated to all them. But first of all, to all the middle-aged matrons we know that love layering and bright colors.
The art of Timurid miniature becomes instrumental in shaping the perspective as well as in the selection of colors and patterns. The idea is to elevate local Uzbekistan women and their perceived low-brow fashion sense and recontextualize them with the recognized art of Timurid illustration.
